Is Cashman To Blame For The Yankees Struggles

When the Yankee’s struggle there is always a lot of finger pointing to go around. With their recent struggles people have been asking the question is Brian Cashman to blame for the Yankee’s Struggles? The answer is a simple yes. Poor decisions prior to and during the season have been made by Cashman.

Most people can understand being loyal to players that have won championships for your team. But paying aging players major money when their skills have clearly diminished is not a smart baseball move. Jorge Posada can’t get his batting average over .200 but he is making 13.1 million dollars this season. Plus who can forget the mudslinging and embarrassment Cashman caused his captain Derek Jeter this offseason during contract negotiations.

Now that these players are signed it seems like Cashman is using every opportunity possible to criticize them. Posada was not happy with being moved to the 9th spot and ordered a day off from the manager. It is not right to bail on your teammates like that, but even worse is Cashman calling a press conference to criticize Posada and to make sure everyone knew how he felt about the situation. What ever happened to trying to keep things in house? Your GM should not be getting more headlines than your star player, remember that Mr. Cashman.You thought this was good?
