Exposing the Yankee Empire

Flushing, New York
November 29, 2004
George M. Steinbrenner, III
2502 Rocky Point Road, Suite #890

Tampa, Florida 33607 Dear Mr. Steinbrenner: I’d like to start this letter by informing you that I am so glad that the New York Yankees lost to the Boston Red Sox, and that the Red Sox were able to advance to the World Series and win. The loss couldn’t have happened to a team whose owner is a bigger bastard than yourself. Even with all the money you spent during the 2003-2004 season, you’re still a loser!!! Payback’s a bitch! You should've done the right thing with regard to my discrimination lawsuit against the Yankees Organization, River Operations, Brian Cashman, Tom May, Bob Wickman, Jeff Nelson and Mariano Rivera. I suppose you think that you’ve beaten me. Sorry to disillusion you, but not by a long shot. I suspect you paid off the judges to dismiss my lawsuit because you were afraid that the truth about the Yankees organization would all come out. You can only suppress the truth for so long, but eventually it has a way of all coming out.

I know that Brian Cashman, Tom May, Robert Cucuzza, Bob Wickman, Jeff Nelson and Mariano Rivera willfully committed oral testimonial perjury when giving their depositions. Judging by your past conviction and misdeeds, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if you were the one who encouraged them to do so. In fact, nothing would surprise me at this point, and, if you think that I am going to just stand idly by and allow Yankees players and staffers to get away with lying in a court case, you all have another think coming, as they say. One day all of you will answer to the lies, whether to an investigative authority, or a higher authority. I can only hope that I’m still around to see all you sons of bitches get your just desserts. Assuming that you’ve reviewed the transcripts in my court case, you would have to know that I had sexual relationships with Ruben Rivera, Derek Jeter, and Jorge Posada. As a result of that, Bob Wickman, Jeff Nelson and Mariano Rivera thought that I was easy. When I refused their sexual advances, they tried to rape me with a baseball bat. More likely than not, it was you who gave Brian Cashman, Bob Watson, and Tom May permission to do whatever it took to get rid of me because I had become a liability and a threat to the Yankees organization due to my sexual encounters with Ruben Rivera, Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada. That's the real reason -- isn’t it -- why all of you came up with this hogwash that I was stealing baseball supplies from the clubhouse? What your managers neglected to mention in court is that both my father and I paid for all the items in question. To this day, the Yankees organization has never reimbursed us for anything. Depending on how carefully you reviewed the transcripts, you may know that I have a number of secretly recorded audio tapes of my locker room conversations with players and Yankees staff members, plus secretly recorded audio tapes of my conversations with managerial staff. On the whole, the tapes do not portray either the players or managers in a favorable light. The tapes have the voices of all the Yankees players present in the locker room on numerous occasions, plus Bob Watson, Brian Cashman, Tom May, and others. Some of the information on the tapes reveals the identities of which individuals had been forging players’ signatures on baseball memorabilia, who was aware of such activities taking place, and who was asking that such activities take place in the future. Other information on the tapes reveals which players were using drugs and alcohol within the Yankees locker room before and after each and every game, which players had mistresses on the side, which players had been gambling with minor batboys for money in the locker room, which players had been gambling on baseball games, which players were in debt to loan sharks, and which staffers had been stealing money and other items at the Yankees fanfest and Yankees welcome home dinner. I am reasonably certain that many reporters would love to listen to the tapes. I am very much prepared to make the tapes public, and I’m assuming that neither you nor anyone else has any objections of consequence. If I’m wrong, however, I’m sure that I’ll be hearing from you or your authorized representatives.

Have a nice day! Sincerely,

Paul Priore
