Yankees Bullpen Falters Again Resulting In Another Lose

The Yankees have been a thorn in many baseball fans side’s for many years now. Due to the West Coast bias that seems to show up each year, baseball fans get New York information shoved down their throats every night. Not everyone thinks that the Yankees are the crowned kings of baseball. There are many baseball fans around the country that feel Derek Jeter is an average shortstop, that Joe Torre was just an average manager prior to managing the Yankees and that Mariano Rivera’s job could be done by just about any relief pitcher on the roster. There are many players on the Yankees roster who would fade into the background if they played for any other team, but since they play for the Yankees they are the best players in the game.

Just think about all the great closers who have played baseball. It was just a few years ago that a closer was finally elected to the Hall of Fame. With so many deserving players waiting to get into the Hall, why is it that Rivera has already been given a spot with the game’s all time greats? Some people in the media seem to forget that Trevor Hoffman, not Rivera, has the most saves in the history of baseball. If Mariano Rivera played for the Kansas City Royals he would be considered a good player but not a legend.

Rivera anchors one of the league’s worse bullpens. His performance this year has been slightly better than some of the marginal players that reside on the team’s roster. Out of 25 save opportunities, Rivera has already blown 4 saves before the All-Star break. At this rate, Rivera will have blown more saves at the end of the season than any other year during his so called Hall of Fame career. Real baseball fans can’t wait for Rivera and the Yankees bullpen to falter once again, resulting in another lose for the self proclaimed kings of baseball.Take a look here to learn more: Yankees’ Mariano Rivera Shut Down With Sore Triceps For Second Straight Game
